13-shift walkthrough (Story Mode nights)
Story Mode is procedural. The night lists below match a widely reported seed (GameRant / community catalogues) — useful as a first-run memory aid, not a locked script. After the August 21, 2026 patch, fifteen extra customers can appear in Story and Endless, so treat every visit as a live ID check. Pair this page with customers, endings, and advanced tips.
How to use this walkthrough
Two rules survive every seed:
- Execute before checkout. Charging a fake then shooting them still starts a Hunt.
- Re-check regulars. Clyde, Andal Khan, Drivers, and several named faces flip human / doppelganger across nights.
Unlock order that matters for tools: five questions and the N.E.T. computer from night one; Emotiscope around night two; Anomaly Lens later. Until the lens exists, some visitors look human even when a later seed would flag them.
Nights 1–3 — tutorial pressure
A common first-shift lineup: Clyde Dawson (human), Bonnie McCree (human), Nathan Calloway (fake — database lists the real Nathan deceased), Julietta Granger (fake — plumber on file, flight-attendant uniform), Kevin Larson (human until the Anomaly Lens exists).
Night 2 often mixes Roger Conroy (human), Natasha Lin (fake — “worked since morning” at a night-only bar), Tyler Brackett (human unless he confesses he is a doppelganger — that confession is a tell, and letting that fake live reportedly does not summon the Entity), Emilia Carter (fake — library closed per notice board), Ricky Lawson (human; lazy-eye mismatch is the fake), Norbert (annoyance gnome), Ryan Holt (human).
Night 3 catalogues frequently list Mia Cannon, a returning Tommy Delgado who can be fake then human on the same night, and Colin Shirley. Do not memorize the order — memorize the tells on the roster.
Use these nights to start pet vet bills if you want True Ending money later — see pets.
Nights 4–8 — quota, lens, and Hunts
Mid-campaign nights raise quota and start mixing Anomaly Lens checks. Named faces that only look wrong through the lens include Amelia Kramer (missing body), Aria Romero, Evan Walker, Kevin Larson (dancing fake), Vivien Marrow, Wade Callahan (face parasite), and Yasmin Carvalho (gold jewelry vanishes).
If a doppelganger pays and walks, you get about sixty seconds to board doors and drop Bear Traps. Role split: Warden on planks, Scout on audio, everyone else on guns — monsters & Hunt.
August 21 equalized product prices, so mid-run shopping is less of a lottery for the $250 surgery pool. Personal funds still matter more than store cash — endings.
Nights 9–12 — music box, fake Clyde, money
From Shift 9 the Jack-in-the-Box can appear during a Hunt. Rewind it fully unless you are hunting Last Performance — Marionette guide.
A frequently reported Night 9 beat: a Clyde Dawson doppelganger who re-introduces himself as if you have never met. Confirm ID before you shoot the sheriff you need alive for True Ending / Empty Home.
After Shift 12 the phone call routes endings: call Clyde for Grave Decision; skip the call and bank $250 personal funds for True Ending; skip the call under $250 for Empty Home.
Community Night 10–12 catalogues name faces such as Rudnick Wex, Vivien Marrow, Net Pongsak, Agnes Wells, Andal Khan (human then fake the same night), Yasmin Carvalho, Maya Davila, and Barry Aoki. Use the computer, not the list.
Night 13 — Dentist finale
The last story night is a chase, not a duel. Reliable ending guides agree: do not stand and empty the arsenal at the Dentist. Keep moving toward Sheriff Clyde and let the cutscene close the fight. Ending outcome is already decided by the Shift 12 call plus your personal funds.
Full routing: all endings. Hunt counters: monsters.
After Story — Endless / post-story
Any ending unlocks Endless Mode (beta). July 29 added forest Rakes and removed the patience bar there. August 21 added the same fifteen new customers to Endless. Q4 2026 is still the planned exclusive Endless expansion — Story & Endless and the roadmap.

Frequently asked questions
Is this night list guaranteed? Reveal answer.
No. Story Mode randomizes customer pools. Use it as a tutorial memory aid, then re-run ID, computer, Emotiscope, and Anomaly Lens every visit — especially after the August 21 customer drop.
When does the music box start? Reveal answer.
Community guides treat Shift 9 as the earliest Story appearance. Rewind unless you want Last Performance.
When do I choose the ending? Reveal answer.
After Shift 12 (Clyde call) and at the close of Shift 13 ($250 personal funds). The Dentist chase does not change which ending you already locked.
