Controls, keybinds, and Steam Deck

WASD move, E interact (talk, refuel, wind, board), F flashlight, Tab team list, M self-mute, R reload. Left-click confirm / shoot. Do not Alt+F4 during night transitions — saves roll back. See saves.

Esc → Settings → Keyboard. Click a row, press new key. Conflicts highlight red. Takes effect immediately. Do not manually edit the .ini while Steam Cloud is active — the next sync will overwrite your changes.

Settings → Gamepad. Three separate profiles: Playing, Dialogue, Restock. This prevents accidental walking while interrogating. Xbox and PlayStation controllers route through Steam Input. If "interact does not respond" on Deck or a Bluetooth pad, do not keep fighting the in-game row — switch to a community layout instead.

As of late August 2026 the game still has no official Verified badge. Try Proton Experimental; Quick Access → Gamepad → community layouts, commonly Deckyboard at Midnight. If the main menu has no cursor, switch to "gamepad + trackpad mouse." The microphone needs the correct device selected in SteamOS audio settings. Multiplayer matches the same Steam pool as desktop.

No official Deck config exists yet. Pick a layout that includes gyro aim assist, separate L1/A for interact, and trackpad single-click for flashlight. An in-game reset does not clear Steam Input. When key-repeat fires on both sides, clear both layers.

Native 1280×800, medium textures, low shadows, medium effects, locked 40 FPS / 40 Hz. Night-shift stutters can be reduced by adding the launch option -dx11 (see troubleshooting for the full crash-workflow).

Settings can reset keyboard, gamepad, audio, and display independently. Do not delete the LocalLow folder to fix keybinds — that wipes story saves.
